Rootscape ("the App") respects your privacy. This policy explains how the App handles information.
The App does not require account registration or sign-in. We do not collect personal information such as your name or email address.
The maps you create (titles, nodes, categories, and so on) are stored only on your device. They are not sent to or stored on our servers. Deleting the App also removes this data from your device.
Only when you use the AI suggestion feature, the text you enter and related node text are sent, through our proxy server, to the API of OpenAI, L.L.C. to generate suggestions. This text is used solely to generate suggestions. If you do not use the AI suggestion feature, no text is sent externally.
Purchasing and restoring "Rootscape Plus" (a one-time purchase) and AI credits are processed through Apple's App Store. We use RevenueCat, Inc. to manage purchase status; an anonymous purchase identifier and purchase information are processed by them. The App never receives your payment details such as your credit card number.
On the free plan, we show ads via Google AdMob (Google LLC). For ad delivery and measurement, your device's advertising identifier (such as the IDFA) and coarse information may be used by Google. On iOS we ask for tracking permission (App Tracking Transparency) beforehand; if you decline, non-personalized ads are shown. Purchasing Rootscape Plus removes ads.
The App accesses your device's photo library only when you choose to save or share a map image. It never accesses your photos without your explicit action.
The App is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
This policy may be updated as needed. We will post any significant changes on this page.
